Account Planning Fellowship

A 2-year programme, consisting of a 6-week induction and four 6-month placements in the planning departments of Ogilvy & Mather, OgilvyOne, Coley Porter Bell and OgilvyAction.

And there's more...

The Ogilvy Planning Fellows’ programme lasts 2 years and will give you some of the best Planning training in the industry. It’s then up to you, what you plan to do with it.

A chance to get to know the agency, how it works, and the people who make it work.

Over the 6 weeks you’ll enjoy invaluable training from members of our Planning department in areas such as:

  • • How an agency works
  • • Writing a creative brief
  • • Presentation skills and public speaking
  • • How to conduct and interpret qualitative and quantitative research.

To finely tune both you and your skills, you’ll be paired with:

A senior mentor

A senior planner who you’ll be able bounce ideas off, discuss your development and who will offer you so much valuable advice.

A peer mentor

A junior planner who, like you, is a relative newbie to the industry, so will really be able to relate to what you’re going through and can chat about all aspects of the business.

2 years of planning. Decades of experience

You’ll find yourself assigned an account and working with a senior planner. Treat he, or she as God. You’ll attend client meetings, write creative briefs, attend focus groups and conduct consumer target research. In short, you’re in at the deep end but we do give you an experienced lifeguard.

Then it’s onto four 6-month placements at:

Ogilvy & Mather Advertising

Does what it says on the tin. TV, Radio, print, mobile and online advertising.

OgilvyOne

Specialises in one-to-one communications. Direct marketing and digital. Notably, Campaign Direct’s Agency of the Year 2010 and 2007.

Coley Porter Bell

Brand and design consulting.

OgilvyAction

International shopper marketing and promotion specialists.

Learn and learn some more

You’ll never know it all – because there’s always something new to learn. But we’ll make sure you get pretty close. You’ll receive ongoing training and have the chance to work on exciting side projects within the agency. You’ll also attend industry events and external training courses, plus build an expansive network within the Ogilvy group.

Who does what in an agency?

You’ll find most big agencies have 3 main departments: Account Management, Planning, and of course, Creative. Here’s a quick look at who does what.
